Backend Developer

THE ROLE

As a Backend Developer in Futurehome you will be part of our Backend team (of 5 excellent developers) which is responsible for building and developing all IoT solutions at Futurehome. You will be in charge of software development for the backend and will be creating a system that connects thousands of homes and is used by millions of people. We work according to the Kanban methodology, so you will be attending daily stand-ups and ensuring that the work is done on time and at the highest quality possible.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Software development of cloud services, REST / gRPC APIs, streaming services, lambdas
• Setting up AWS infrastructure for the project using terraform
• Development of core services deployed to user’s smart hubs (a linux machine)
• Implementation and maintenance of new and existing functionalities
• Work with technology partners, engineering and product teams

REQUIREMENTS

• Min. 4 years of commercial experience working as a Backend Developer
• Provable proficiency in Go programming (min. 3 years of commercial experience)
• Any experience creating REST / gRPC APIs
• Experience with GraphQL, protobuf, timeseries DB is a plus
• AWS or any other cloud working experience
• Analytical thinking
• Willingness to develop and learn new technologies
• Proficiency in English (B2+)

NICE TO HAVE

• Profesional experience with MQTT, Kafka, Datadog
• Experience with development of device applications
